Using a precision needle and argon gas, wine can be extracted from a bottle without pulling the cork. This offers a longer lifespan to the bottle, allowing for multiple tastes of the wine, without the altering effects of oxygen. Each Coravin model works in a similar method, with design and appearance being the main difference. Each argon capsule can be used to extract 75 ounces of wine.
