Jess Graber is the man behind Tincup Whiskey, a craft distiller and something of a whiskey distilling legend in Colorado. Former firefighter Jess developed a passion for distilling after he helped save a neighbour George Stranahan’s valuable liquor collection from a disastrous barn fire. Tincup has a Bourbon mashbill of corn, rye & barley. The rye content is notably high at 32% which contributes to the rich spicy character of the finished whiskey. Distilled & aged in Lawrenceburg, Indiana for a period of 5 years in new American oak barrels with a #4 & #5 char. After ageing the whiskey is transported to the Stranahan’s plant in Denver, Colorado where it is cut with pure mountain water from the Rockies & bottled. Warm cinnamon and pepper as well as some spicy rye flavours, mingled with vanilla, and oak. Dry with hints of cinnamon, clove and anise on the finish.
